Tonight Im thankful for: 1. The fact we have a neighbor with a strong well and hes willing to share his water! 2. ...I might be able to save some of the yard. I had a few gallons left in the tank. I planted this yard in natives over 20 years ago. It takes little to no supplemental summer water...when we have normal amounts in the rainy season. We havent had normal amounts in about three years now. 3. Time to read and connect today... 4. ...a good kind of tired. Ill sleep well tonight! 5. Through friends and discussion...understanding things that have previously escaped me in the Bible...and this was Sunday! See how that works out? Tonights five for five on perception~ “The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.” W.B. Yeats~ “No man has the right to dictate what other men should perceive, create or produce, but all should be encouraged to reveal themselves, their perceptions and emotions, and to build confidence in the creative spirit.” Ansel Adams~ “Defensiveness is usually someone silently screaming that they need you to value and respect them in disguise. When you look for deeper meanings behind someone’s pain you can then begin to heal not only yourself, but others.” Shannon L. Alder~ “Just as in the body, eye and ear develop as organs of perception, as senses for bodily processes, so does a man develop in himself soul and spiritual organs of perception through which the soul and spiritual worlds are opened to him. For those who do not have such higher senses, these worlds are dark and silent, just as the bodily world is dark and silent for a being without eyes and ears.” Rudolf Steiner, Theosophy : An Introduction to the Spiritual Processes in Human Life and in the Cosmos ...and this Barry, makes me wonder if those without certain perceptions are able to compensate and have a much higher development in spiritual organs of perception through which the soul and spiritual worlds are opened to him. Would you/could you speak to this for me please...as you are immanently qualified on several fronts. (The quote itself is what interested me...Theosophy itself, is a new concept to me...) “The most important thing in communication is hearing what isnt being said. The art of reading between the lines is a life long quest of the wise.” Shannon L. Alder~ Oh! Alright, one more! “A critic can only review the book he has read, not the one which the writer wrote.” Mignon McLaughlin, The Complete Neurotics Notebook ...and with this, Ill throw in my two cents worth. It is said that communication at its very best is second hand. I believe it is more like third hand if we are going to be honest about it! Think about this...What I THINK, is first hand, if you will. What I SAY or COMMUNICATE has now become second hand. What if Im a terrible thinker/writer/speaker? We are already in BIG trouble! Then, what YOU HEAR or READ is the third hand communication, and all I did was convey my thoughts to you! See what you end up with? THIRD hand news between TWO people! Never mind if you want to pass along what Ive just told you! The game of telephone caught on for a reason! It reminds me of the late afternoon I was working on leveling a fountain I had built from some really neat Terra cotta pots. Up to my epaulets in water, I asked my husband for some SHIM STOCK. GYM SOCKS! came the reply. What do you need gym socks for? Duhoh! Deliver me! Thats okay Honey, Ill get my own gym socks.... Have a great week! Love you big!
