Tonight I’m thankful for: 1. The discipline it takes to write these lists. They make my day complete. 2. The wonderful sense of humor some of you have! You really keep me going! 3. Getting my body repaired “one piece at a time”. If Johnny Cash could build a Caddy one piece at a time, Howie can certainly put me back together the same way! 4. A power nap like I’ve never had before! I was dead to the world when the phone rang! Not to worry, I’m getting ready to sleep some more! I’m like the mare…circling the corral with my head down…looking for rocks and a soft place to land. 5. All of the prayers, love and support you have blessed me with as I get ready for my second surgery in a week. Tonight’s five for five on the human condition, procrastination, and the art of living~ “Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and Im not sure about the universe.” Albert Einstein~ “Anyone who thinks sitting in church can make you a Christian must also think that sitting in a garage can make you a car.” Garrison Keillor~ “Never put off till tomorrow what may be done day after tomorrow just as well. Mark Twain~ “I love deadlines. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by.” Douglas Adams~ “Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.” Robert A. Heinlein~ Surgery at 7:00 in the morning. First call at 4:30, no need to blow Reveille for me, I’ll be out like a light, dreaming of a cup of coffee! See you when I get back to headquarters, tucked up with Sidley. I believe I’ll shade up for the weekend…what are your plans?
