Tonight through Monday Evening....A generally quiet weather pattern will be in place through Monday as a broad upper level ridge settles in over the region. With clearing skies tonight and fresh snow cover over southwest Montana, lowered valley temperatures a few degrees below guidance through Saturday afternoon. Patchy fog may develop in some of these valleys early Saturday morning. Surface pressure begins to lower along the Rocky Mountain Front Saturday as warmer air works into the state. This will create gusty west winds locally up to 35 mph while temperatures move closer to seasonal averages. Temperatures will continue to increase through Sunday afternoon, after which the thermal ridge moves east of the area. A stronger surface trough develops along the Rocky Mountain Front Sunday night, producing wind gusts locally up to 40 mph, peaking within and near Glacier NP. Heights lower with slightly cooler temperatures on Monday, along with a slight chance for rain showers along northern portions of the Continental Divide as the next Pacific system approaches the region
