When she turns that wicked-brilliant smile on the room, framed by her trademark long feather earrings, she can make you and each person in the audience, whether friend of soon-to-be-friend, relax into what seems like a personal relationship. Her clear, bell-like voice, her confidence on stage, her honest lyrics and her intimate introspection all combined to make her performance a joy. - Vents Magazine LA based singer/songwriter Mary Scholz is spending 2014 on the road, promoting her newest album, The Girl You Thought You Knew. Most frequently compared to Carole King, Joni Mitchell and Norah Jones, Scholz appeals to audiences with her warm, lyrical voice and relateable songs. The album, themed around the struggles of life transition, takes a look at the difficulty of choices, changes in relationships, learning who you are, self love and acceptance. maryscholz 9pm - 11pm Massive Snowflake On Miss Massive Snowflakes fourth album, So Sweet, Shane de Leon weaves stories of heartbreak, loss of trust, family, and social media into eight songs that take us through an exploration of how love can sometimes walk a fine line of pain. The albums first single Hard To Know is an upbeat song showing that its not always easy to know where to go when you cant quite figure out where youre at. So Sweet shows a moodier side of Miss Massive Snowflake and features the Nina Simone cover Turn Me On. Miss Massive Snowflake is a charismatic and playful band based in Portland, OR who enjoys playing live and has performed over 400 shows in 8 countries. The band is currently on a two year nonstop tour going through the end of 2015. de Leon was a member of experimental rock band Rollerball/Rllrbll for a decade and has collaborated with 31 Knots, Black Heart Procession, Solex, Steve McKay, OVO, Rainstick Cowbell, and others internationally. With an emotive voice and compelling lyrics, de Leon is a storyteller at heart and is often compared to David Byrne, Guided by Voices, Jonathon Richmond, and the Flaming Lips. The band started as a solo recording project in 2004.
