Tonight, The Yarmouth Junior A Mariners accomplished something no other team has in this MHL season. Yarmouth defeated the Dieppe Commandos 4-3 in a shoot-out, becoming the first team to beat the Commandos in Dieppe. The winning goal in the shoot-out was scored by Shawn Boudreau on a fantastic deke on Commandos goalie Marc Terriault. Mariners Captain Connor Donaghey also scored in the shoot-out, and in regulation, adding to his recent hot streak. Sean Fraser and Michael Guerrera had the other Mariner goals. The Commandos led 1-0 and 2-1 in the game, before the Mariners took a third period lead on Donagheys goal. Dieppe tied it up with 1:39 left on Lindon Beckwiths second goal of the game. Mariners goalie Chase Gaudet, in his second straight start made 33 saves and stopped two of three in the shoot-out. Mariners defenceman Connor Rogers was a healthy scratch, along with forwards Luc Knight and Curtis Colbary. Yarmouth improved their record to 11-7-0-1, and gained three of a possible four points on a two game mid-week road-trip. Yarmouth will face the Commandos again at Mariners Centre on Saturday night, game time is 7:30.
