Tonight as I sit in the ICU waiting room on Christmas Eve, I am experiencing so many different emotions. The strongest emotion I am feeling right now is thankfulness. Im so thankful I still have my daughter with me. We werent so sure over a week ago that that would be the case. Im thankful for my wonderful family who has spent many hours day and night up here with me. Im thankful for my best friend, Misty Gilmore-Decocq, for being there for me whenever I need her. All my friends personal and work related that have checked on Emily and myself. My son has been such a trooper. He loves his sister so much and really misses her. My Husband, Ed August, I will never be able to thank him enough. My world literally stopped on December 14 and he took charge. He has taken care of me, my son, our home, everything. I love him with all my heart. So thank you everyone for all the thoughts and prayers. Emily is an amazing girl. Please continue to pray and everyone have a very Merry Christmas.
