Tonight, as a way to reward myself for many sleep-deprived nights as of late... I get to edit my beloved Chandra 2012 screen test footage, a project that Patricia Hall and I traveled way out to a tiny blink-of-an-eye-town to shoot in an old, theater. All this because of one frame, where my co-editor, Matthew Heather Lukas had me stop, through miles of footage and take notice of... There she is! Thats your Chandra! Maddog was right... one frame and she came to visit me, again, in the face of a 17 year old girl, who was 1/30th of a real-time second away, from putting a pair of protective glasses on, for a chemistry class. It may only be for the edification of her family and the few sweet hours I get to work on the shots, but it reminds me again, why I do all of this. For the glimmers of magic across these darkened landscapes... I am collecting jewels on a deserted island. -RJ visionrealm.wix/films
