Tonight brings sadness at the death of Robin Williams. We had met him about 5 years ago. I was waiting in back of the Showbox theatre for him to finish his set. We were the only people in the back, and his driver was waiting for him. The driver was mad at us, considering us paparazzi even though I was there with my wife and two kids. He moved the car by the back door so we could see him. When Robin came out he walked past the driver and came over to us. We took a picture. He was so sad, you could feel the pain oozing out of him. I came back the next night to have him sign the picture. He had replaced the previous driver with a new one. There was another couple waiting that night. Of all the spotlight people I have met, he was truly the nicest. Time marches on. But, he brought a smile to my face many times.
