Tonight dumbstruck me, a milestone. First time ever seeing a movie in a theater alone, but due to the film’s basis, I did not care. ‘Jobs’, the biography of Steve Jobs, founder of Apple, was played by Ashton Kutcher. A surprising amount of movie lovers out there apparently hate him and slice and gash his acting skills. Personally, I feel he did an impeccable job, no pun intended, immersing himself in the character. Throughout the duration of this film, I learned several new things, and was reassured of ideas and realities I was already aware of but became even more stern. When something or someone has a place in our heart, strong enough, big enough, loud enough, opinions of the world cannot touch us. This film scored significantly under anticipated revenue. Slammed by critics and Wozniak (Steve Jobs’ business cofounder) himself (the Wozniak in real life) said it was ‘okay’. Computer electronic technology fascinates me to limitless degrees. Found myself smiling throughout half of this movie, and in some scenes a really big smile. In one particular scene, I realized I actually didn’t blink I was so intrigued with what was going on. Watching Apple’s history unveiled right before my eyes. My passion for Apple, what it stands for, and what they’ve done for the world has certainly not escaped my attention. The opinions and criticism of folks around me just don’t seem to affect how I feel about something or someone when my knowledge of them or it is extensive. Same goes for anyone reading this post. According to this film, and the affect Steve Jobs’ company has had on the entire globe of people and technology, regardless of people’s opinions and input, this man had an unstoppable vision for the future of consumer electronic technologies. Innovating things people didn’t even know they wanted until they saw what it could do for them. I absolutely loved Ashton’s work. This film is one of my favorite of all time hands down. I will be watching this movie over and over and over. One of my favorite quotes was from Jobs himself saying he’s not striving for being better, he’s aiming for being different. If someone wants to make a difference, absolutely everything about their idea must be a pressing issue. This film helped me recognize something big about myself as well. Without being showy, or advertising it, but by simply being it. Walking and talking it. I genuinely do not, hardly ever, perceive the world around me the same way people around me do. I am different.
