Tonight is Albertas first coordinated homeless point in time count - a poignant reminder to us all of the importance of home and the human and societal cost of not having enough #affordablehousing for all our neighbours to have a home. It calls to mind a quote from the brilliant Albert Einstein Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Our most vulnerable neighbours count! So we count to better understand the critical need for investment into #affordablehousing and to appeal for increased funding for #housingfirst programs, we count to reach out with support and hope - we count because we must. Tonight we are thankful for those who count with kindness, purpose and dignity - for the front-line workers who offer hope and programs to those they meet, but mostly were thankful for those who see the people behind the numbers.
