Tonight is a very special night. 17 years ago tonight, Angelle and I were at Silver Dollar Dragway, getting our last test runs in before we left to go to Denver Colorado, to race at the NHRA Mile High Nationals....While we were testing a VERY pregnant Jackie Bryce admitted herself to the Sumter Regional Hospital to give birth to our darling Julie Anne Bryce, the nest day, tomorrow, 17 years ago. I went by to see Jackie when I got home from racetrack. She was in for a long night of labor and pain. Jackie made me go home and sleep, come back in am...When I got there Sunday Morning, she was just about ready to have the baby...maybe 2 or 3 hours left...meanwhile the boys were at Star Racing, getting The late Great John Myers engines, along with Angelles engine...on and off the DYNO for final tune, so I gave the charge nurse my secret Sunday Bat Phone number, told her to call me when it was time...I would throw down what I was doing and run to scrub for delivery, when she called....bout 3 hours later, nurse called, I hauled and we went and delivered the most important person I have ever met in my LIFE, even today. She has lived up to the hype...Julie Bryce, my baby, you are 17 tomorrow, I am thrashing at Star Racing to get engines ready for Denver Mile High Nationals. Just like the day you were born...You are a wonderful result of beautiful efforts from Me, Jackie and OUR GOD, Almighty..I love you and am proud of you, more than ANY thing I have accomplished in my 60 years. Thank you Julie for the wonderful person you are and I am VERY proud of you to wear the name of Bryce!!! Happy BirthDay Julie Bryce!!!! I LOVE you!!! Jackie, honey, you did AWESOME!!!!!
