Tonight is the 3rd time in my entire life that I burned dinner! I was coking a wonderful rice with chicken and artichokes The house was smelling sooooooooo good! I smelled the onions and the rice giving each other flavor, I added white wine and chicken broth, and .......walked away 2 seconds...... Everything was sticking to the pan in seconds. That is a crime in Italy! Good thing that my mother will never know about that. So I had to improvise, in the freezer I found a bag of spinach and mushrooms, put them in the pan and cooked some small pasta in the microwave, 10 minutes after I was eating a new recipe, a sprinkle of Parmigiano cheese on the top was divine! The house still smelled good, my husband was happy, I saved my pride and most important my mother will never will know!
