Tonight live at PBC: THE GRAIN BLOOZOLOGY THE GRAIN are all about swinging and rocking their way through blues derived from the great blues keyboard players of our time. It’s a project featuring the Hammond organ and piano put together by Bob Patient who is rated as the best blues keyboardist in the country. Bob is joined by classically-trained jazz/blues musician Sue Bluck on piano and vocal and Gary Howard who is one of the best and most versatile drummers in the country on drums and vocals. Extra special guest will be PBC President, Rick Steele. Formed in 2007 under the banner of The McCowat-Nelson Blues Band, but later changed its name to the more recognisable and easily remembered BLOOZOLOGY in 2010. The current line-up has been together since 2012 and features Allan Lyford (bass and vocals), Alan McCowat (guitar and vocals), Mike Nelson (keys and vocals), Paul Millard (saxes) and Vince Pavitt (drums). Consisting of some of Perths most experienced musicians, the band, as the name suggests, explores all facets of the blues delivering a unique blend of blues, rhythm and blues, jazz and soul rarely found in Perth. With a repertoire of both originals and covers, Bloozology has developed a sound that should please all tastes in the broad spectrum of the blues. And tonight its a SolarisCare fundraiser event. SolarisCare Foundation is a community-based healthcare organisation. Its Cancer Support Centres are the first of their kind in Australia and offer support, information, education and complementary therapies to cancer patients and their primary carers.
