Tonight, me and my monkey have been listening to The Black Album by the Damned, from 1980. It had three sides of new studio material (including the 17 minutes long prog-goth epic Curtain Call,) and a fourth side of live tracks, mostly highlights of their previous album, Machine Gun Etiquette. A couple of years later, it was reissued as a single album (minus Curtain Call and the live tracks) in a new sleeve which parodied the Beatles White Album. More recent reissues have reinstated the original track listing and artwork, and this year, a deluxe triple album 35th anniversary version on grey vinyl is due for release!
