Tonight members went to the Swatara Township Commissioners Meeting for the monthly meeting to aknowledge Fire Chief Shane Steele and Fire Marshal Mike Ibberson for their actions this past Saturday at the Econo Lodge fire on Eisenhower Boulevard. During this incident Chief Steele heard a voice above him at a second story window, Chief Steele immediately made a priority messege to command. Chief Steele then threw a ladder to the window while Chief Ibberson climbed the ladder to rescue two trapped occupants. We would also like to recognize Lieutenant John Tinari of Paxtang Fire Company 40 for his assistance. Chief Steele and Chief Ibberson were presented with Heroism Awards from Assistant Chief / President Bryan Beistline on behalf of the Department. Chief Ibberson and LT Tinari were presented with the Medal of Valor from the Board of Commisioners, while Chief Steele was presented the Medal of Merit. Congratulations to all recipients on a job well done!
