Tonight on The Audiovore- Soul Sacrifice: Santana LIVE at The Fillmore West, 1968. As part of my ongoing historic live concert series, tonight Ill be presenting selections from Santanas legendary Fillmore West run from Dec. 19-22, 1968, capturing the band at a critical moment in their nascent career as they wowed audiences across San Francisco with their unique fusion of Latin rhythms with blues-infused jazz chops and rock bravado at the height of the West Coast psychedelic movement. Featuring prototypical versions of classic songs that would ultimately make their way onto their landmark debut LP in 1969, these recordings also contain unreleased gems from the bands earliest days- including songs like Chunk A Funk, Fried Neckbones, and the epic Freeway- giving a rare glimpse into the evolution of one of the most revered institutions (and guitar players) in modern music. Fiery solos and rump-shaking rhythms all night long. Dont miss it!!! Tune in!!! If you got ears, you gotta listen.- Don Van Vliet
