Tonight the City Council received at update from the County on the Date Palm / I-10 interchange. This project has taken way to long to complete and there is going to be another closure of the interchange to complete to road work. Please see the attached press release from the county. DATE: September 6, 2013 WHERE: Date Palm Drive and Interstate 10 (I-10) WHEN: September 12, 2013 CONTACT: Dennis Green, (909)800-0451 SEMA Construction is continuing work at the $14.8 million Date Palm Drive Interchange Project in Palm Desert. In order for crews to safely complete the concrete paving in the middle of the intersection, ramps and roads will need to be closed The eastbound I-10 ramps at Date Palm Drive will be restricted to “No Left Turns” for a 30 day period beginning the evening of September 12, 2013. Towards the end of this 30 day period, Date Palm Drive between I-10 and Varner Rd. will also be closed. The Date Palm Dr. Intersection Project is scheduled to be completed in January 2014.
