Tonight the flurries will be ending, and skies may clear briefly - TopicsExpress

Tonight the flurries will be ending, and skies may clear briefly before clouding over once again. Lows tonight will range from the low teens far inland to about 17 degrees downtown. The high today managed just 31 degrees. But another substantial temperature drop is expected for Monday and Tuesday with daytime highs in the low 20s and overnight lows (Monday night into early Tuesday) falling into the single digits. Strong winds will produce wind chill temps of 5 to 10 degrees below zero early Tuesday morning. As for the snowfall last night, just 1.4 inches came down at OHare, with as much as 1.8 inches being reported in Winnebago county and northern McHenry county...not a substantial storm, just enough to make for some slick roads. There is some indication of a return to 40+ degree temps next weekend, along with some rain. Too early to be sure, but if you are tired of the cold there is hope. Have a great week!
