Tonight was my first night canvassing for the Yes Scotland campaign. It was brilliant. And amazing to see other peoples views. One question that struck me was Why the hell are 16 year olds allowed to vote, they dont even care or know anything about politics? Basically insinuating that young people are dumb. Now from tonights experience, it seemed that not a lot of the older generation even knew or cared about the vote and were very middle of the road. The fact that the high school are having debates and teaching children on a daily basis about their future seems to show that students DO care and want to learn about it rather than a few of the older generation who seem to be stuck on the old fashioned keep things the way they are mind set. Its inspirational to see what so many people are doing to change the future for our generation, so much hardwork and dedication.
