Tonight we continue with Part 3 of our series Family Matters. Last week our focus was on the Husbands role and responsibilities within the family. This week we turn our attention to the wives. Maybe youre not married. But there are still lessons to be learned from the role of a wife. Perhaps you are preparing yourself for marriage. Maybe youre already married. In any case, this message is for all women. The world has a gross misunderstanding about what the Bible says the role of a wife is. The world seems to think that women, and wives specifically, are insignificant. The world thinks that it can be summed up in two words - submission and obedience. There is a very negative perception of these types of women and it has fueled todays feminist movement. But there is much more to this submission than the world realizes. It does not give the husband the right to walk all over his wife. It does not give him the authority to order her around, forcing where she goes and what she does. There are boundaries that the Bible sets up. Biblical submission is far different from the worlds view of submission. So how is it that we become, and more importantly remain, a Godly wife? What is it that a wife must do to fulfill that role that God has set aside for us?
