Tonight, we give a friendly roast to my dad Kent Eklund, who is transitioning to Of Counsel for Cincinnatus, his leadership consulting practice. My dad has been an incredible inspiration to many people, not the least being Nate and myself. We grew up in a home where anything is possible was lead by example. The older I get, the more I am amazed by some of his accomplishments. He got his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania while he and my mom (Katherine) raised a toddler (me) while watching their apartment building burn to the ground, losing everything (now known as The Fire). He became a tenured professor and chair of the poli sci department at St. Olaf College before he was 30. He became mayor of Northfield...I believe when he was 31 or 32. He became the youngest cabinet member of Al Quies administration in 1979. And since then, his career has taken him in so many amazing directions. Hes provided selfless counsel to thousands of people over the years. He has helped countless organization, mostly non-profits, find their way and direction through leadership development and proper planning. I couldnt be more proud to have him as dad. And perhaps most important, I couldnt find a single picture of him on the Internet. https://linkedin/pub/kent-eklund/10/591/a08
