Tonight we proudly perform as one of the acts in the Des Moines Music Coalitions Gross Domestic Product Festival. I will take this moment to address the heavy metal scene in Iowa. Since our first EP…..I have seen Hairy Mary’s and the Reverb close their doors. These were two of the last “punk/metal” clubs in the midwest. Their vibe lives on in house shows and diy venues. This being said…..the heavy metal scene is stronger worldwide than it EVER has been. This is in spite of the mainstream media, in spite of politicians, in spite of trends and fads……When you consistently have hard working…..hard playing…..talented…..groups that tell you that in all honesty that your town…..your house….. was one of the best stops on their North American tour…….that is something to be proud of. At a time when the music industry has finally hit rock bottom(thankfully)……heavy metal……stands strong and true. This I am confident in. Whether your support directly extends to my group here…..or not…….I thank you for supporting some of the most awe inspiring music that has ever come from this planet. Sincerely \M/ arco Battaglia
