Tonight we venture off the beaten path a little. This one comes from 50 From the Trail, the Best of Cowboy Cooking from a Timeless Land. Yes friends we are heading out on a cattle drive. Something a little different for our BBQ fans, who hate to heat up the kitchen on a hot summers day. I can relate there are times I tell the Sous Chef, something simple like a salad for dinner. This time of year, it just seems too hot to eat. Heaven forbid!! But here we go heading down to the Chuck wagon for what is known as the Big Ol Mess..... 1 lb. Smoked Sausage, cut into chunks 3 Jalapeno peppers, sliced 1 Green pepper, cut into bite-size chunks 1 Sweet onion, cut into bite-size chunks 1 Foil cooking bag 1/4 cup Tabasco sauce 1 10-oz. jar Sweet and Saur sauce Place sausage, peppers, and onion in foil bag. Mix Tabasco sauce with sweet and sour sauce in a small bowl and pour over the mixture in foil bag; seal edge tightly. Place foil bag on grill; cook for about 45 minutes, turning every 15 minutes. Slit open and serve right out of the bag. Serves 4 Folks, I dont think you need to go out and buy a foil bag. We have used heavy duty foil enough times to know you can make it into whatever you need. You just need to make sure that it is sealed nice and tight. Or your big ol mess will end up on you, not your plate. Enjoy my friends, and as always......Stay Fluffy!!
