Tonight, we went to a memorial and prayer service for a young man who was dear in our hearts. We did so with others who are also dear in our hearts. If you will so indulge me, I thought I would share my thoughts on this. We go through life, and just due to the sheer nature of our schedules, sometimes more of it than we would care to admit we do so on autopilot. Every now and then, I get the opportunity to touch someone. Not touch them physically, but touch their heart and soul. When I do so, that actually touches my soul. It leaves a mark on me that leaves me forever changed, as I hope it does the other person as well. I have had that experience a few times recently. Sometimes, it happens in good times, and sometimes, it happens when you find a sliver of good in an otherwise bad situation. We all leave a footprint. Make it a good one. When someone is down and out, it may be then that you carry them, and when you are down and out, it may be them that carries you. When you are not trying solely to leave a mark on someone, but you still make that difference by just being who you are, that is when you know you are fulfilling your purpose. For all of you who have left your mark on me, thank you. For all of you who have allowed me to leave mine on you, thank you. I continue to try to not waste my life, not waste my time, and to not waste your time. I will strive tp continue to live my life purposefully and I will try, without trying, to fulfill my destiny.
