Tonights Summary 6/28/2014! Bismillah, The first day of fasting is upon us. Beautiful evenings filled with heartfelt recitation. Words the Prophet (Pbuh) would convey to the people, and at these words, hearts shook. Tonight’s verses will deal with the running of an Islamic community. Ayat will lead to an understanding that the Ka’bah is the center of Islamic worship and a symbol of Muslim Unity. All over the world, all turn towards it 5 times a day, symbolizing that oneness. Further, Allah Swt reminds us of faith, and the characteristics that exemplify believers. Detailed, practical advice on food and drink, law, inheritance, fasting in Ramadan, how to treat orphans and widows, and divorce are all touched upon. There are a number of reminders that focus on the preservation of the Islamic community against outside harm. Stories are told such as that of David and Goliath, and they remind believers that despite numbers, or how difficult the world may seem, one must be brave and preserve what they know is true. The world will push you one way, the current will move in a direction, the brave stand up for what is honest and righteous always. This and Allah Swt knows best
