Tonights column. I know Ive written a lot, perhaps too much, about the cases of M and her surviving sister S. But I had to write this one. Can a judge - even with the most honourable of intentions - compel an unwilling defendant to submit to a psychiatric exam? Even if that evaluation is in her best interests, is that a step too far?
