Tonights pibble post comes from POA Alum Jasper (tan colored pittie). You can see by his pictures Jasper is having quite the life! This is what Jaspers mom had to say (long but SOOO worth the read)..... Why I love Pit Bulls… I have rescued two Pit Bulls within the past few years after my Chesapeake Bay Retrievers passed of old age. There are many things that I love about Pit Bulls. If you are looking for a snuggle partner, they are your breed. They absolutely love to get in a variety of positions and push up close to you or lay on your lap. They are burrowers and enjoy being under cover warm and snuggly. It is heaven to wake up next to the warmth of a Pibble! They are energetic and fun… like clowns at times. Life is one big party and they want to live every moment to its fullest doing whatever makes them most happy!! At my house fun usually looks like playing tug, car rides, chasing each other, wrestling, hiking, and playing scent games! I say they put 100% into everything and do everything with gusto! They are extremely adaptable. My Pits have been out in our boat for 2 weeks at a time doing pack walks on the beach, chasing balls, running through the surf and lazing in the sun on the boat. Our female has trained for a 1/2 marathon with my husband. They have the energy to go on long hikes or just be a companion when you want to have a lazy day. I also appreciate the important responsibility I have taken on as a responsible Pit Bull owner. I take this job very seriously. I am proud of my dogs and try so hard to make sure no matter where we go they are representing the breed in a positive way. It makes me so happen when someone asks me what kind of dogs I have and after I tell them they say, “Really, they are so well behaved!” I love Pits because they are Smart and eager to please: they can be therapy dogs, run agility or participate in any athletic challenge or working dog role. Their intelligence and loyalty make them a versatile dog who enjoys activity and a job. The breed is absolutely beautiful. The variety of colors, shapes and sizes make them very unique. They adore people and thrive on positive human attention. You cant help but smile when you are loved by a Pittie. Their goofy personalities and huge smiles sure can make you laugh. I hope someday soon the world will realize just how amazing Pit Bulls are. These dogs do not deserve the reputation that the media and irresponsible owners are responsible for creating.
