Tony Ej Iofor Our political discourse has weighed more on persons, ethnicities and religious leanings more than common issues that bother 99% of Nigerians. This trend is counter productive. It creates wider divisions in the polity for the oppressive establishment to exploit and weaken the resolve of Nigerians for good leadership and good life. The central focus of good leadership and politics is on issues first then persons that can best lead the country in their resolution. Most of our common issues to be modest originate from public corruption of those trusted with power and their agents. Corruption has no ethnic or religious coloration. This makes vain all energies spent on ethno/religious sentiments. An army must clearly identify its enemy and get its logistics right to win a battle. We have too many discordant voices in our country to bet on a successful struggle for change. But we have the capacity to make things right if we choose to.
