Tony and I drove up to North Dakota this weekend to visit family - TopicsExpress

Tony and I drove up to North Dakota this weekend to visit family we hadnt seen in about two years. While sitting around a fire on the side of a lake, I was listening to my family of several generations talk. It hit me that we have changed words over time. My sisters and I wore thongs on our feet. Today you know where they wear them. I say catsup. You probably call it ketchup. In our bantering back and forth, there were a couple words thrown out that some people today would choose to find offensive, because those words have migrated to new meanings. In our day, they were used to tease. Now they are socially explosive. I cringe every time I hear the F word. It makes me uncomfortable. I am wounded every time someone uses Gods or Jesus name as cuss words. Yet, using these words are considered permissible on the streets, on the stage, and on social media. No one condemns the users. They dont fire off insults. They dont delete them as friends. You cant have it both ways.
