Tonys knee is really messed up according to the doctor. For those who can understand all the medical talk here is what his MRI shows: Skeletal structures show normal anatomic alignment. There is osteophyte formation noted along the femorotibial and patellofemoral joint compartments. Marrow signal shows edema in the posterior aspect of the medial tibial plateau consistent with bone contusion. There is a moderate joint effusion noted. There is a small bakers cyst. Limited assessment of the cartilaginous surfaces shows areas of cartilage thinning involving the medial femorotibial joint compartment. The collateral ligaments, patellar tendon and the quadriceps tendon are unremarkable. The cruciate ligaments are unremarkable. The lateral meniscus is intact. The medial meniscus shows abnormal signal in the posterior horn which exits the superior surface. There is also a vertical component along the periphery of the menisci consistent with a complex tear. The root of the meniscus appears intact. Soft tissues show generalized edema which is most prominent in the popliteal fossa and medially. There is also mild edema involving the distal vastus medialis muscle suggesting a strain. All of that means surgery whenever workers comp gives the ok. Please keep him in your prayers. Thanks
