Too good to be true OR FALSE?: NEFF again claims it has N$3bn for housing In a repetition of a pre-election claim, the Namibian Economic Freedom Fighters (NEFF) says it will soon receive N$3 billion from foreign donors for low-cost housing. The funds have allegedly been sourced from Asian and Arabic nations, whose names the party refuses to reveal until the money is paid into its bank account on Wednesday. NEFF’s national co-ordinator Kalimbo Iipumbu yesterday claimed that the party has received close to a 1 000 applications from landless Namibians. “We will know the exact the number of applications on November 10, when the timeframe for submissions closes under the NEFF Housing Programme. Anyone can apply wherever they are in Namibia. You apply, and when you qualify, you tell us where you want the house and we will build it there,” Iipumbu claimed. He added that people will pay N$300 per month over 10 to 20 years. Iipumbu said the programme will cater for low-income earners, such as security officers, domestic workers, petrol attendants, taxi drivers, kapana sellers, hairdressers, shop attendants and street vendors. In last month’s general elections, the NEFF received a total of 3 259 votes. They received no parliamentary seat.
