Too late for Merthyrs grandiose houses such as Penydarren House & Dowlais House, now demolished, to profit from such a scheme. How can an authority such as Merthyr hope to attract tourists when they blindly wreck everything in sight of value, even to today with the opencast site in Dowlais excavating coal thereby wiping out any trace of a unique 18th century industrial archaeology; hopefully the archaeologists working at the site will able to save as much as possibl before its all ground down by the machines and lost forever.
