Too often salvation is treated as something we grow out of, - TopicsExpress

Too often salvation is treated as something we grow out of, instead of as Paul says, something we are to work out in fear and trembling. We often look at it with such flippancy and we fail to remember what an amazing occurrence it truly is. Each of our backgrounds may differ, but when God calls us and saves us, (in that moment) we were rescued from a world of darkness and that my friend was an amazing act that we had absolutely nothing to do with. In fact I want to impart a little theology to you today; whether your testimony is like mine or different, you need to understand that, that moment of salvation for you was a dramatic rescue mission of grace, almost beyond our comprehension, planned by the Godhead before the foundation of the world. Why would He do such a thing – glad you asked? Paul says in Eph. 2:4-7 “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus....
