Tooborac Winch Challenge update It is short notice but we need to clear some trees off the tracks this coming Sunday (17th). I propose being outside the gate at 25 Zochs Lane, Tooborac at 9.00am so that if you are coming please ring me and I will meet you there. If you are coming, but later, please ring me and I will escort you to the site. We surveyed the site last Sunday and we are introducing a variation to the normal short course event by having an ENDURO on Saturday morning. The competitors will need to be fit for a 6km stage with 3 laps and on any one of those laps they will have to negotiate a hard section which only has a gate at the bottom and one at the top. It will be a free choice and Wayne and I have picked out 3 routes that are achievable. There will also be multiple cars on the stage, two cars will depart side by side and the next 2 in 30second intervals. There is enough open space for passing but drivers will need to be fair and make room where they have to. We have looked at the obstacles and most will be drivable, if not it will only be a short winch. Friday night: three prologues Saturday am: Enduro Saturday pm: three stages maybe reduced to two if there are delays. Sunday: four stages but maybe reduced to three if time runs out. Competitors are welcome to come and help set up the stages and learn the route on the weekend of 6 & 7 September. They will need a good offroader but not necessarily their comp truck. Comp trucks can be left on site for the week if required. This Sunday all you need is some sturdy footwear, gloves and if you have a chainsaw that would be great but please wear a face shield.
