Took a hike up to Sharp Top today. Hadnt been up there in awhile, whereas I used to hike up there once a week or so just for the exercise and an excuse to hike the trails. The fall colors are getting lovely now and after I got to the top I had the good fortune to meet and talk with a couple from Canada! They were speaking in French (I guessed German) and assumed they were from Europe somewhere. Thank goodness they were fluent in English too! They had me take their pictures while at the top of the Peaks (with a nice view of Flat Top mountain as a backdrop) and I was happy to do so. After getting to the point where I can run 3 miles and more reliably now I guessed walking up to Sharp Top would be a snap. Wrong! It was a tough hike today, though I did walk the whole one and a half miles up to the summit pretty briskly. And I was carrying along my tote bag too which added some extra weight. So I guess I can use that for an excuse. Still a great day and wonderful weather to cap it off. I was going to make some watercolor sketches of the scenery up there, but I got so enchanted with my hike that I lost all interest in drawing and painting anything. So Ive got nothing to show. And not a whole lot to tell either.
