Took a spur of the moment trip yesterday to NC to see the Least Tern Chick. They are nesting in less than ideal spot (parking lot) Many, many thanks to Bruce Richardson for doing his best to keep them safe by putting up a sign, and rocks and orange tape. We only stayed a few minutes and at a safe distance. Blisteringly hot sun. Only one chick hatched so far and it was hiding under one of Bruces stones in the shade, coming out to stretch its little legs once in a while.. Adorable!
