Took a walk to the library today to return a book and pay a Ten-cent fine. Taking walks are a good way to refine thoughts about peace. Peace is the solitude of being alone yet surrounded by the sensations of being alive, breathing fresh air, feeling the brush of a cool breeze on the face and warmth of the sun on the skin, hearing the calls of birds and ravens, and while this, not being disturbed by the sounds of traffic. Peace is knowing that in the vast expanse of the universe, it is the comprehension of its beauty and mystery that call upon the human spirit to open its mind to seek yet unknown truth.
