Took both Kal and Diego on a longer trail ride separately of course I can only ride one horse at a time. Ha Ha! We went around the school section. They both walked away from the barn and herd without hesitation. Kal was actually a little better than Diego. In fact I put the reins over the saddle horn and barely had to touch them the whole way. He was so relaxed the whole time, even when we went by the pasture with the neighbors horses in it. Diego got a bit excited about the other horses and even whinnied at them trying to look back at them a couple of times as we left them. But nothing uncontrolable. He was just being a horse wanting to go socialize. I also had to give Diego a few jobs to do on the way home because he kept drifting toward the way he thought we should go. So it took more to keep him between my legs on my focus than it did Kal. Diego also thought it would be fun to break in a trot a few times, which I thought would be fun too, but I helped him understand it should be my idea, so we worked on the HQ to FQ manuever alot. Started to get pretty good at it by the time we got home. Anyway a perfectly fun and lovely day taking the two training horses out for longer solor trail rides. Each got a couple of hour ride in while the other grazed back home in the pasture by the barn. Only a couple more days left with these two awesome horses.
