Took my Moms friend from Samoa shopping today and we stopped by this Asian market. As we were at the checkout, the Asian lady looks at me and goes, Amiga? Is this your amiga? You amigo? I looked at her and said, No, Im Samoan. No habla espanol. She then looked at me in disbelief and goes, Are you sure? You no amigo? Two weeks ago, a Samoan lady was startled that I laughed at her joke in Samoan and then asked me in a gasp of surprise (in Samoan) You can understand Samoan? to which another man answered her, He understands perfectly. She then looked at me somewhat embarassed and said, Its a good thing I didnt say anything bad. Gotta love America.
