Took the kids running on the Refuge Nature Trail today. Weather is warming up, and I kept telling the kids to look out for snakes, and that I had to jog with them so I could keep an eye on the trail ahead. Sure enough, we round a bend and ran right up on a Water Moccasin. It is funny how you ALMOST know when something is going to happen....less funny when its a pissed off venomous snake though, and boy was he pissed. Got him cleared off the trail in case other kids were walking behind us, but the trail is a nice flat area that gets a lot of sun, so they like to bask there. Be careful people
