Took these yesterday with my Iphone. The ice came first, then freezing rain and built up on the power lines and started popping like shotgun blasts as the trees exploded, splitting down the middle. Then at 11AM yesterday we lost power until 10AM this morning. The main transmission lines were damaged due to the ice. I have been living in TX since 1978 and this was the worst ice storm I can recall. The temp went way down last night but we just covered up and went to bed early. It was 59 when we got up so that wasnt too bad. We dont think much about electricity until we loss it. Of course all the generators flew off the store shelves so we just grinned, growled, and got over it.
