Top 10 Most Popular Bible Verses and Their Meaning by Robert Ripper It is essential for Christians to read the Word of God, but it is also very important for us to memorize it. Although, you may not able to memorize the whole Bible, word by word (unles you have an unusual photographic memory), you can memorize at least those parts that are the most meaningful to you in your day-to-day life. BibleGateway performed a data analysis of the most read Bible verses on their website. The very fact that they represent the most searched parts of the Bible by their visitors (in 2012), speaks volumes about our spiritual needs. 10. Proverbs 3:6 “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (KJV) In other words, recognize God’s authority in every aspect of your life and He will guide you wherever you will go. Sometimes, we make the mistake of not including God in everything we do, and then we wonder why our plans do not seem to be blessed. God has a map with directions laid out for us so we will not get lost on this journey called life. 9. Psalm 23:4 “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (NIV) Even though life can get tough, we don’t need to be afraid of its low points because God will be there with us. And when God is with us, who can be against us? Often, situations where we have nowhere else to go after exhausting all resources create a perfect opportunity for miracles. We can have the most supernatural experience of God’s protection and providence during those times of trials and afflictions. God can also use the dark periods of our life to keep us from going astray, and set us back on the narrow path that leads to eternal life. 8. 1 Corinthians 13:4 “Love is patient, love is kind, it isn’t jealous, it doesn’t brag, it isn’t arrogant..” (CEB) That is how true love presents itself. We have tendencies to fall for insincere expressions of love that are really just shallow affection. It may actually be just a cover for ulterior motives such as lust, an ego boost, looking for some sort of life security, social status or advancement. Knowing this verse will help you discern whether a person expressing such affection truly loves you or is just seeking to fulfill their own self-serving agenda. 7. Proverbs 3:5 “With all your heart you must trust the Lord and not your own judgment.” (CEV) Sometimes our own judgment can deceive us. When we cannot see the end of the tunnel or don’t know which direction to take on that intersection of life, we need to take a leap of faith, but not blind faith; Instead we need to pray and trust God wholeheartedly. 6. Romans 12:2 “Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God-what is good and is pleasing to him and is perfect.” (GNT) There are principles set in place in our world that contradict godly principles set by the Word of God. Those worldly principles are based on selfish desires and pride, which go directly against Biblical teachings of selflessness and humility. Even if it can be very difficult, do your best to avoid situations in life where you may be more susceptible to cave in to the peer pressure of unsaved friends or ungodly co-workers. Then you will find the secret of knowing God’s will, which is maintaining an unbroken relationship with Him. 5. Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (ESV) Sometimes, we just worry about things too much. Worry does not solve any problems. So, instead of worrying, we need to pray and let go of that burden. Let God deal with it, and He will make the best out of any desperate situation if you will allow Him to. 4. Romans 8:28 “We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.” (NRSV) No events are random in the life of a Christian. Everything happens for a reason, because God has a master plan with a good purpose. We cannot see the whole picture, but God does and sometimes that is all we need to know. We simply have to trust Him on that. 3. Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” (NASB) Nothing is impossible for the Creator of the universe. When we are running out of steam under the weight of life, all we need to do is ask God for an energy refill. And sometimes even for a miracle. The strength with which God can fuel us in the midst of our weakest moments is supernatural and there is no substitute for it. 2. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (NLT) God’s plans for you are always good. He will never leave you alone in despair, even if it may seem like it for a moment. He has a future for you that is much better than this world can ever offer. When experiencing calamity in your life, it doesn’t mean that God has not kept His promise. It means that in due time, He always assures a great outcome, acccording to His plan, for those who call themselves His children, no matter how bleak the current situation might be. 1. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (NIV) This is a cornerstone message of our faith. God’s love for us led Him to sacrifice His own Son for our own good, so we would not have to go to hell. God wants us to enjoy a full eternal life, not a miserable eternal existence of damnation. All we need to do is to put our faith in His Son, Jesus Christ and trust him as our one and only Savior.
