Top 10 albums of the year with a convenient link to a track from the album! Honorable Mentions - Benji by Sun Kil Moon (too depressing to make the final list), Black Messiah by DAngelo (came out too late in the year, 100% will be on best of 2015), Do It Again by Royksopp and Robyn (not sure if its a full album), The Voyager by Jenny Lewis 10. St. Vincent - St. Vincent (https://youtube/watch?v=mVAxUMuhz98) This album started off high on my list but dropped lower as the year went on. I think the reason is that I can abstractly recognized its a well made album, but non-abstractly its not a musical sound Im super crazy about. 9. Spoon - They Want My Soul (https://youtube/watch?v=NOPfmfRVWmk) First Spoon record in a while, but as with everything theyve ever created, it does not disappoint. 8. TV on the Radio - Seeds (https://youtube/watch?v=w0T3rryCXM0) One of my favorite bands of the last 10 years. I think if this album had come out earlier in the year and Id had more time to listen to it, it wouldve ranked higher. 7. Caribou - Our Love (https://youtube/watch?v=yvDVyqgaAFo) Kind of reminds me of Meriweather Post Pavilion by Animal Collective in that its a much more accessible kind of straight-forward album from a band known for a little more experimental work. But this one is a great combination of someone experimenting while incorporating enjoyable dance music. 6. Avey Tares Slash Flicks - Enter the Slasher House (https://youtube/watch?v=D6cngTn2_NY) Speak of Animal Collective! This album seems like it was custom made for me. Animal Collective members? Check. Dan Deacon members? Check. Horror movie soundtrack based? Check. Awesome? Check. 5. Damon Albarn - Everyday Robots (https://youtube/watch?v=rjbiUj-FD-o) Imagine what would happen is Damon Albarn tried to make a singer-songwriter style album. This is what you imagined. As the year got colder and bleaker this album got a lot more play in the Camp household. 4. Sisyphus - Sisyphus (https://youtube/watch?v=UYmf1SYeaR4) Any band that is a rapping-ish band, but also has music by Sufjan Stevens will make a top 10 list. Its just too good of a recipe for success! 3. Sylvan Esso - Sylvan Esso (https://youtube/watch?v=Qr5AIKRPIHo) Did you click that link and listen to the song? If so, then you do not need to read this description. If not, imagine that a really awesome lady from this kind of Appalachian folk music badn 2. Sturgill Simpson - Metamodern Sounds in Country Music (https://youtube/watch?v=xdC2L-HXVZ8) A Psychadelic Outlaw Country album. Maybe you didnt read that. A Psychadelic Outlaw Country album. 1. Wax Fang - Astronaut (https://youtube/watch?v=UerTxriT0mI) All the previous albums I linked a song. This one I linked the album because it needs to be listened to in its entirety. When I heard the opening track for the first time I was driving home at 1am and I was tired. But the song was so enchanting that I sat in the driveway and finished it. Also the first track is 20 minutes long.
