Top O The Morn Everyone! Well its Thursday, or TBT, Friday Eve or just plain we can count on the weekend being right around the corner day. We are going to have a dog day of heat and humidity today. It is currently raining hard in the far Northern suburbs moving SSE. If this system stays together the folks SSW may experience some rain activity that will break way for extreme heat conditions and very high humidity with the temperature humidity index being close to 100 inland and actual temps in the low 90s. The winds will be between 10-20 MPH from the SSW. Dress cool, drink plenty of fluids and dont overdo in these kinds of temperatures. Mayor Emanuel has made nice with the Chicago Police Department by allowing a retroactive pay raise he had threatened to deny. This on the heals of a popular with the unions candidate in Karen Lewis who may very well challenge him in his reelection bid in February. He also signed an executive order bring the minimum wage from $11.93 and hour to $13.00 an hour for city contract employees including the concession workers at both airports. Could a city wide minimum wage raise for ALL workers be far behind? Gov. Quinn is living on $79 a week to see how this is doable for a minimum wage worker after housing expenses are taken care of. President Obama told the world and the terrorists we will not be intimidated by their threats and actions and said, We will not be intimidated. Their horrific acts only unite us as a country and stiffen our resolve to fight against these terrorists.. The Jackie Robinson West Little league National Champs will appear today on Windy City Live at 11:00 AM on ABC7. NFL regular Season opens today with The Packers at the Seahawks at 7:30 PM...this is a game Chicago, worth watching. The Bears will kick-off Sunday.
