Top Recruiters in the Georgia Wing for 2014: C/SrA Benjamin - TopicsExpress

Top Recruiters in the Georgia Wing for 2014: C/SrA Benjamin Selvaggio of the Douglas Cadet Squadron (first photo; Cadet Selvaggio at far left, with the Douglas squadron cadet recruiting team) was the top cadet recruiter in the Georgia Wing in 2014 and was also the top recruiter in Group 4 for 2014 (cadet member or senior member). Cadet Selvaggio built up a big lead in the spring and held on the rest of the year. It’s great to see a young cadet from a small squadron (of course it isn’t as small as it used to be) in South Georgia set a goal, work hard, and actually make it happen. Cadet Selvaggio was part of the Douglas cadet recruiting team that attended the Group 4 Recruiting workshop bright and early on a Saturday morning in August then proceeded to the Douglas Outdoor Expo and worked the floor recruiting the rest of the day. I wasn’t surprised; they recruited at the Expo all day the Friday before also. 2nd Lt. John Hudson of the Gwinnett Composite Squadron (second photo; 2nd Lt Hudson at far right with family members) was the top senior recruiter in the Georgia Wing in 2014 and was also the top recruiter in Group 2 (cadet member or senior member). Hudson started building momentum in the fall and passed a number of recruiters to take the lead and never let up; he was still recruiting members in December. It’s a good thing he did because late in the year another recruiting officer; 2nd Lt Eric Rochelle of the Bartow Etowah Composite Squadron caught fire, was also bringing in new members in December and ALMOST caught Hudson. I’m looking forward to the friendly competition between these two this year; they should be able to bring in 60 new members into the GAWG between them in 2015! I doubt if there are two CAP recruiting officers in any wing in America that could out recruit this hardworking duo. The overall top recruiter in Group 1 for 2014 was 2nd Lt Rochelle; the top recruiter in Group 2 was 2nd Lt Hudson; the top recruiter in Group 4 was cadet Selvaggio; and the overall top recruiter in Group 3 was Lt Col David Mitchell from the Peachtree City Falcon Field Composite Squadron. The current top five “All Time” active recruiters in the Georgia Wing are: 1. Lt Col Darrell Golliher, Walton Composite Squadron; 2. Lt Col Marl McCracken, Georgia Wing, 3. Maj Alan Cunningham, Bartow Etowah Composite Squadron, 4. Maj Brian Gluck, West Georgia Composite Squadron; and 5. Lt Col David Roberts, Currehee Cadet Squadron. Just to get some perspective on what Lt Col Golliher and Lt Col McCracken have accomplished to date; only one squadron in GAWG currently has more members than Lt Col Golliher has recruited, while only two squadrons contain more members than have been recruited by Lt Col McCracken (both of these squadrons contain well in excess of 100 members). Finally, C/SSgt Tiffany Gibby of the Douglas Cadet Squadron recruited the first new member into Georgia Wing in the first days of January 2014, while Maj David Hamby of the DeKalb Cadet Squadron recruited the last new member into Georgia Wing in the last days of December 2014. Great job recruiters; keep it up; we need a lot more like you!
