Top hat, beaver, 1912 in its original Box, 56cm inside, 320 CHF/350USD. The hat of all hats in its original box. The hat has been passed down in the family (granddaughter) and was bought and worn for a wedding in Zollikon near Zürich, Switzerland in 1912. Marked inside Best London , Hutlager, F.Bötticher Zürich Limmatquai 24 und 88. Inside there are the number 56 and 4.5 (cm and size). Good condition for a hat that has survived carnival and over 100 years! Small bold patches at the very top ridge, band on the crown was loose but fixed the the pins, one had to be replaced the other was still there. No scratches, holes or other defects in the fur. Inside the thread has loosened twice 10cm seam are open, but that is easily repaired. The box was repaired with cello tape as much as possible I removed that. The bottom of the box is loose, but can be fixed from the inside (wanted this to be the decision of the new owner). The two binders on the outside can be used to fix the box to the lid and are fully intact. Box has the inscription F. Bötticher as well.
