Top prize: Top manuscripts will be guaranteed a sympathetic reading by Tim Inkster of the Porcupines Quill and Rick Wilks of Annick Press. The Toronto Novel Marathon is a special event fundraiser designed to bring writers together for a great writing experience while raising funds for a worthy cause. In our first year, we have 30 spots for writers. Anne Millyard, a Canadian publishing legend, has put together a great panel of judges, including Gary Barwin, Farzana Doctor, Jake MacArthur Mooney, and others. The panels selections will be judged by Susan Swan. The marathon location is in the heart of downtown, near Yonge and Bloor St. and has air conditioning, electricity, washrooms, etc. Join two dozen other writers, raise money for a very worthwhile cause, meet some publishers, booksellers, and well-known authors, and have a great long weekend in August! Registration is $100 and a minimum of $500 in sponsorship Registration opens March 1st. There are great prizes for the top fundraisers.
