Topic : Deal Breaker 2 – Disobedience to God’s commandments Scripture : Deuteronomy 5:33 “Walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.” I encourage you to study Deuteronomy 28 that speaks about the blessings of obedience and the curses of disobedience. The Kingdom of Heaven is an orderly Kingdom. God will never expect you to do something without benefits. The Bible says if we obey all His commandments, we will live and not die - we will enjoy God’s favour in every deal which is in His plan and purpose for our lives. Note that the Bible says “all” not some. It is sheer foolishness to obey only the commandments that suits you and think that “God will forgive you for the ones that you choose to disobey”, as many often say. When you have entered into the Kingdom of Heaven, you are obliged to obey all the commandments that God commands you. Matthew 5:19 says “Anyone who breaks (fails to comply with the conditions of God’s deal) one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven, but whoever practices and teaches (all) these commandments will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. If you want to strike a deal with God, choose to obey all His commandments.
