Topic of 9th recording for Speaking 01 C Learning how to speak English as an Foreign Language is not easy for those learners absent of the factors that influence them during the process. The knowledge over these factors grow along the passage of time if the learners are successful in developing the awareness required to critically evaluate their on-going process. So, successful learners should at least have this attitude. Speaking as one of the most prominent yet complicated process to undergo is in desperate need of such continuous evaluation both from the learners themselves and others outside them, e.g. internal and external factors of learning. Researches have been conducted to help learners and researchers, as well as, teachers/practitioners understand factors that influence the very process. Most of us are not aware that there are numerous of these factors are constantly influencing us. Some learners are grateful that they feel that their mastery over speaking skills is well developed, i.e. they know how to speak their mind well. Some others are in confusion whether or not they will be able to do as well. While everyone is aware that speaking skill is one of the skill that grow along with the progress of their speaking practice, manifesting this general idea into practice seems to be the only reasons why learning how to speak is difficult. There is no better way than to start practicing with proper intensity to gain results. For Speaking 01 class, we will start by working with the core problem that restricts students to practice their English. The problem is about the material or content of their speech. Mostly, learners think of speaking practice as having to do with the pronunciation and grammar or the focus of form that their main problem would be their lack of pronunciation and grammar skill when they are speaking. As relevant as it may seem, the biggest problem in starting to speak also involves the material. Learners mostly find that they stop speaking because they never really have the things to talk about. Therefore, our materials so far have always been about ourselves and things related to it. The purposes of this material design are: 1) to provide readily accessible materials so that content-related problem will not stop us from practicing speaking as, chances are, we know more about ourselves better than anyone else. 2) to allow reflection upon our own development as individual and as learner will also help us to understand our obstacles in learning, as mostly learners are not well aware of their own capacity. 3) to gain appropriate understanding of how much our environment has influenced our way of thinking and seeing ourselves as both individual and learner. The environmental influences can be both negative and positive toward our journey. Most certainly, by learning what the positive influences of our environment are we can be better prepared with whatever coming after. Looking more closely at number (3) above, we have now come to the final recording project that should sum up the whole topics which are actually the SUPPORT SYSTEMS readily available for us all these times. so, now everyone must develop concept for the 9th recording which is about SUPPORT. Ask yourselves these questions: 1) How much do I know myself? (rec 01) 2) How do my activities build up my knowledge about myself? (rec 02) 3) How do my hobbies relate to the kind of person I am today? (rec 03) 4) How much do I owe my hometown and its environment that have shaped I am today? (rec 04) 5) How much do I owe my family for their care and love that I am finally able to continue my study? (rec 05) 6) How much do(es) my favorite individual(s) aspire me to be what I am today and what I want to be in the future? (rec 06) 7) How much have I observed my own past that leads to the building of my personality today? (rec 07) 8) How much do I want to realize my dreams/other peoples through me? (rec 08) The answers to these questions should give you enough evaluative materials to know more about yourself most especially your new self as a university student, a learner. Thats what your 9th recording is going to be. Youll have to record your speech with the minimum duration of 5 minutes. Use the extension .mp3 for your files if possible. The deadline will be the formal schedule of your Speaking 01 Final Test. Should you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask. Good luck.
