Total defeat of the rebels is a double edge sword. It might just - TopicsExpress

Total defeat of the rebels is a double edge sword. It might just trigger the apocalyptic war pitting old Sudan against South Sudan. I’m not a prophet of doom or anything. I just analyzed present issues which may result into future’s tensions. Right now at peace talks in Addis Ababa, both warring parties are merely playing a game of cat and mouse. And in fact, each side has a plan B, military solution to defeat the other side as a problem-solving if peace talks failed. As things military stand, the rebels are at a losing end. Even if they’re totally defeated, they won’t surrender. They’ll run up northern borders where they’re likely to clash with SPLA-N. Both sides had traded accusations, and they already have bad bloods. That being the case, Sudan won’t just remain on a sideline. Sudan would join the Riek’s cause to counter SPLA-N. Finally, it could get so ugly. As ONE thing leads to ANOTHER, this is an apocalyptic scenario for going to total defeat of the rebels. Any shortsightedness to not see this coming would be mind boggling to say the least!
